Me, teacher… me!
To the editor:
And so, once again we have another loser trying to tell a winner how to win. Mitt Romney is like the poster child for second-place finishers. Instead of being an asset to both the Republican Party and to this country, he seeks to find a crack in President Trump’s armor so that he may exploit it for his own benefit.
The European allies, if one can call them that, are dismayed, disappointed, frightened even, that this President is holding them accountable to pay their share of the costs of international business. At great cost our country protects theirs by our military presence and trade imbalances. It was the well-intentioned actions of our past that created and maintained this lopsided financial fiasco. And Mitt Romney is of this past. We now have a President that stands up for this country and that most needed ingredient has been sorrowfully missing for too long.
Politics are changing. The earth is in constant flux and politics are no different. Mitt Romney is still in the dial phone era of politics while the most advanced practitioners are telling their Alexa to turn on the lights.
So, instead of jumping up and down screaming for the teacher to notice him, Mitt Romney needs to take the advice of General Douglas MacArthur, “and just fade away.”
