Fire Prevention Day & Fall Festival rescheduled
The Lehigh Acres Fire Prevention Day & Fall Festival, which was scheduled to take place last month, has been rescheduled to Saturday.
Veterans Park Recreation Senior Program Specialist Tanya Ray said the festival was originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, but was cancelled due to tropical storm weather making its way through Southwest Florida.
The free, family-friendly event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 23, at Veterans Park Recreation Center, 55 Homestead Road S. The festival will be held in the parking lot and basketball pavilion.
“It’s an absolutely free event. No money to be exchanged whatsoever,” Ray said.
The festival will include the Lehigh Acres Fire Department, as well as vendors coming in and giving out candy. The fire department will provide free hot dogs, popcorn and iced cones, as well as providing a bunker gear dress station.
There will also be activities, games and face painting during the event.
