The Lehigh Cavalier Domino Club members raised funds for the Bahamian Relief Fund, which was presented to the Red Cross last week.

Club Member Vernon Angel said all the members of the Cavalier Domino Club chipped in and raised $1,000 to give to the Bahamas. He said they chose the Red Cross because it is the safest organization to give funds to because it will go to the greatest need.

“We actually set up a relief fund within the club. Some of the funds will go into a special relief fund, so whenever a crisis comes up we have something to send wherever,” Angel said, adding that the money stems from Friday night Bingo. “Some of the funds go to our scholarship and some go towards the relief fund.”

The Lehigh Cavalier Domino Club is selling tickets for its New Year’s Eve dance, which will be held from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Dec. 31, at Mirror Lakes Golf Clubhouse, 630 Milwaukee Blvd.

Tickets are $35 and includes dancing, a meal and champagne.
