By Staff | Mar 16, 2020

(Lehigh Acres & North Fort Myers) The Florida Governmental Utility Authority is taking precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of its customers and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will customer service be open?

Customer Service will remain open until further notice; however, we recommend voluntary social distancing whenever possible as we continue to monitor COVID-19 developments. If the issue can be addressed through a phone call, please call us at (239) 368-1615.

Our intent is to develop strategies designed to keep everyone safe.

2. Can I still come in to pay my bill, start service or discuss other billing related issues?

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority recommends that you utilize our many payment options rather than come in to pay at the cashier. Lines are sometimes long with many people and we would like to support the global effort of social distancing by reducing all, but the most critical, person to person interactions. Therefore please:

Pay online at www.FGUA.COM

Pay over the phone @ 855-396-1256.

Never be late again!!! Sign up for autopay where payments are debited from your account on your due date.

Drop the payment in the boxright next to the entrance door of the local business office.

If dropping off paperwork or starting new service, download our new service packet at www.FGUA.COM then call (239) 368-1615 to begin new service over the phone. You will still need to submit a completed application. Please use the following methods to submit your application:

Mail it to 9841 Bernwood Place Drive, Unit 120, Fort Myers, FL 33966.

Email it to – FGUALEE@uswatercorp.net

Drop it in the drop box located next to the entrance door of the local business office.

3. What if I am disconnected or I’m paying on my due date, will I be late if I drop it in the drop box?

Late fees will be waived as we monitor this situation.

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority has suspended disconnects for the next 30 days as we continue to monitor the situation.

4. I was speaking to a Utility employee and they stepped away from me and I wasn’t even sick?

Please know that the distance is not intended to offend, but our employees will create reasonable social distance when possible to ensure the safety of both the customer and themselves.

5. Is my water safe to drink?

In short, yes. Please visit www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html for more information.
