Stop the blame game and face reality

By Staff | Aug 4, 2021

To the editor:

The recent letter you published on July 23, “Help Immigrants, not smugglers,” deserves a response.

A response, not because I agree with it, but because it really makes no sense. It struck a nerve that needs a reply.

The writer’s argument seems to put down the previous administration, the GOP and, especially, Marco Rubio for “child credits” funded and approved by Congress.

The writer sounds like she is on a witch hunt to villainize anyone who does not support the current administration’s dismal efforts to justify its inaction on the Southern boarder.

I usually try to discard this type of trash writing, but a response in this case seems most appropriate. In the first place, let me remind you that the current administration of Joe Biden created this fiasco on the Southern boarder and he is the one who fails to address any corrective action to stop the flow of migrants across the boarder. You can blame the GOP all you want, but they are not in charge of this mess. The writer referred to the GOP wanting “people to work cheaply at Mar-a-lago.” That has got to be one of the stupidest statements I have ever read in the mail bag. The writer talks about boarder cartel smugglers and the need to provide “undocumented workers” with labor rights and “protections.” Let me remind you, they are illegal immigrants and have not earned or deserve those rights… not having entered our country legally. The folks who deserve protections and support of our government and taxpayer resources are our own citizens and especially our veterans.

My suggestion is that the writer and such thinkers wake up and get a clue as to what is actually going on in this country and why the current situation is the way it is. Stop blaming others (GOP, Marco Rubio, and the previous administration) and casting blame where it is not deserved. You need to wise up and tone down.

Have a good day.
