Lehigh man found guilty in weapon case
A Lehigh Acres man accused of pointing a gun at a neighbor and threatening to shoot her has been found guilty.
Allen Castile, 57, was found guilty as charged of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The jury returned the guilty verdict following a one-day trial in Lee County, according to the State Attorney’s Office.
Castile was yelling outside of his home in Lehigh Acres, according to a release from the SAO.
“His neighbor stepped outside and asked him to stop,” the release states. “The defendant then pointed a gun at her and threatened to shoot her. She ran inside to safety and a Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene. He met with the defendant near his front door and saw a shotgun just inside the doorway. He positioned himself between the gun and the defendant and waited for backup. Additional deputies arrived and the firearm was seized and secured. Castile was then placed under arrest.”
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct.18.
Assistant State Attorney Leena Marcos prosecuted the case.
