VFW Post 4174: We care, we’re there; Part II

By Submitted by PAT?WHITEHALL - | Dec 25, 2021

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, nine people met to a celebrate ribbon cutting ceremony which was also a dedication to open a Veterans Combat Trauma Support Group Center in the Lehigh Acres Flea Market which is located at 270 Beth Stacy Boulevard. It was one of those beautiful weather days Southwest Florida is famous for and all in attendance appreciated being outdoors.

Our Post 4174, The Amvets and American Legion as well as WC Records are all sponsors of this special venture and the very first meeting already welcomed 10 members. Meetings will be at 5 p.m. every other week and to make an appointment or to obtain membership, calling Hershel Keith at 239-309-8927 will get the ball rolling. Special thanks goes to Richard of WC Records and the owner of Flea Masters for all his help in getting this set up and for being so willing to assist our veterans. Taking care of our veterans is not only a priority of our Post 4174, it is also extremely important to the members of our Lehigh community to step in for more support and we can’t thank them enough.

The members who participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony were Hershel Keith, Pat Hurley, Larry D’Angelo, Steve Dennison, Greg Gesh, Shannon Roussey (District 13 Commander), Mike Slone (VFW Post 4174 Commander), Juan Ramos and Mike Love.

We are all hoping our veterans will take full advantage of the program because they are owed a debt by our country for their service, but this is not only hope and help for those who served in the military, it is also for those first responders who so valiantly serve every day of their tenure.

If you want further information on this program, contact the VFW, Post 4174 at 239-369-5100 ask talk to our Commander, Mike Slone. You will be glad you did!
