Child Tax Credit expires
To the editor:
The Child Tax Credit expires this month if Congress doesn’t pass the Build Back Better bill.
Why is a child credit so hard in the U.S? Other free countries support their child citizens and pave the way for their health, education, and success. Finland, Sweden, Luxembourg, Denmark, Canada, Australia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, France, Hungary, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand and more. A wealthy nation like America should do at least as well for its young citizens.
Family members and underage dependents, such as foster children or grandchildren for grandparents with custody, can qualify in the proposed Build Back Better package in Congress. Despite opposition from Florida’s senators, it’s a very popular bill with Florida citizens.
