One of the most critical assistance the American Legion can provide is serving our youth in the community. One of the most deserving groups of children serves our community through their commitment to school, jobs, and athletics. Generous donations from the American Legion assist these fantastic young adults. The Southwestern Area Commander Jessica Moore has worked tirelessly to promote the successes of the Special Olympics of Florida. Commander Jessica Moore stated, “Through sports, people with intellectual disabilities engage with new abilities and capabilities.” Moore continues to say, “Supporting an athlete will open your heart to their potential.” The American Legion Post 323 hosts a casino night on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. All the proceeds will go to the Special Olympics of Florida.

The American Legion Post Commander, Tom Burns, and The American Legion Auxiliary President, Nareina Hall-Schmidt are privileged to welcome the Department of American Legion Auxiliary President Wanda Brandt to Post 323 for dinner on Friday, Jan. 14. The Auxiliary President, Nareina, would like to invite the American Legion Family to welcome President Brandt to the post.

The American Legion will present the Four Chaplains Ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 6, at 4 pm. Finally, please remember your 2022 membership dues are due.
