The Lee County School Board approved the purchase of two additional parcels of property on Joel Boulevard providing approximately 44 combined acres Tuesday night.

The purchase included 14.5 acres located at 201 Joel Blvd., which connects the district’s land at 214 David Ave. The sale price is $3,119,999 and with estimated fees the property cost is $3,165,324.

The 14.5 acres also sits next to 225 Joel Blvd., another property the board approved of 9.95 acres. The price tag for the property is $941,293, which includes estimated total fees.

Operational Planning & Projects Executive Director Fredrick Ross said although no specific school has been identified for the property, it could be used for a K-8, elementary or middle school.

“I support this and complete a 50- acre parcel. It’s a great location. I am excited for Lehigh,” Board member Melisa Giovannelli said.
