U.S. Renal Care has opened an in-center hemodialysis clinic in Lehigh Acres.

The facility at 3400 Lee Blvd., Suite 108, brings the number of USRC’s clinics in the area to seven, with three new clinics in Lee County alone.

The ribbon cutting ceremony last week was conducted by members of the East Lee County Chamber of Commerce, including Lee County Commission Chairman Cecil Pendergrass and East Lee County Chair Mike Welch.

Pendergrass spoke briefly about the advantages the new clinic brings to the community.

“It’s a great addition to the community, because it gives the residents of Lee County another option for treatments, so if they do need this type of care, it’s close by. We service this area with Passport as well to get patients to and from their homes. U.S. Renal Care also offers patients a choice to do the dialysis here at the clinic or they provide state-of-the art home dialysis machines that can be taken home,” Pendergrass said.

Following the opening remarks and ceremonial ribbon cutting, guests had refreshments and toured the full-service facility.

“This is a state-of-the-art facility. There are TVs, Wi-FI and heated massage chairs for patients receiving hemodialysis. Our nurses and techs provide chairside charting where they document and closely monitor each patient during their three- hour stay,” Dawn Meehan, USRC’s Facility administrator said. “When we opened in August 2021, we started off with two patients. We have quickly grown and now serve 22 patients in the Lehigh community.”
