A major career-related event for job seekers and employers alike will be held at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena on the campus of FSW, on Tuesday, April 5.

CareerSource Southwest Florida, in partnership with Florida Southwestern State College, will host more than 100 businesses and career specialists from local secondary and technical schools from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Touted as the area’s largest career event, it will provide “new and seasoned job seekers with the chance to learn about hundreds of job opportunities in fields such as customer service, labor and construction, food service, hospitality, law enforcement, medical and nursing, sales, professional banking/finance, manufacturing, technology, warehousing, education, and more,” organizers said.

Organizers are hoping to attract the area’s largest gathering of career seekers and people wishing to explore new schooling/training opportunities.

Companies in attendance will include B&I Contractors, NeoGenomics, Herc Rentals, Scotlynn, Mercola, Lee Health, Arthrex, Cypress Living,and Amazon.

“We’ve partnered with Florida SouthWestern State College to bring yet another premier hiring event to our area,” said Joe Paterno, executive director of CareerSource Southwest Florida in a prepared statement. “We have many of local businesses looking to fill qualified positions and in turn many job seekers actively looking for new career opportunities.”
