American Legion: American Legion Auxiliary honors through volunteering

By Dr. Deanna Hall - | Jul 13, 2022

The American Legion Auxiliary continues to honor veterans, their families, and the community through volunteering. They promote patriotic youth programs, such as American Legion Auxiliary program, along with education programs, contests, and scholarships in local school systems. Kathy Reed, from Lehigh Acres American Lehigh Acres Auxiliary Unit 323 is currently serving as the Secretary, Membership, and Leadership chairmanships. Kathy understands that military services is a sacrifice for the whole family, as she is a widow to a past commander, Bob Reed, United States Army. Kathy quietly looks for ways to ease the burden–whatever it takes to get her family back on their feet physically, mentally, and vocationally. Deanna Hall, Adjutant, Post 323 stated, “Kathy would always find the resources to ensure all our family members at 323 were taken care of, she is a true volunteer with a heart of gold.”

If you have a heart for volunteering, please stop by and ask questions; a friendly member will be happy to assist you.
