Sons of the American Legion Squadron 323 to hold event Sept. 3 to support the USA Patriots
The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 323 will put on an event, Saturday, Sept. 3, to support the USA Patriots–Serving Beyond the Uniform.
The mission of the USA Patriots (formerly known as the Wounded Warrior Softball Team) has been a registered nonprofit since 2011 after the need for continued rehabilitation options for our wounded warriors had begun to rise. Through the sport of slow pitch softball, the organization has grown in significant ways by providing athletic programming, and youth programming initiatives to teach the abilities of adaptive sport by our veterans, and to engage our veterans in communities to show off the abilities they now have as post-trauma athletes.
There will be a Clam Bake from noon to 7 p.m., and they will serve fresh clams, burgers and Italian sausage.
There will also be a Cornhole Tournament starting at noon, a Pool Tournament starting at 4 p.m. and raffles.
All funds raised will go to support USA PATRIOTS.
American Legion Post 323 is at 1124 Ashlar Ave., Lehigh Acres.
