It is extremely convenient because instead of piles of brochures and flyers in recruiting booths and service officer locations, a single poster or placard with the code gives the most current information available and ensures no more outdated printed materials will be delivered. It also keeps the surrounding area looking so much neater, in keeping with the orderliness of most military establishments!

The VFW also has a QR code for the array of Member’s Benefits and since the VFW’s affiliate partners modify their programs often, most printed material is rapidly nullified. With the Member Benefits QR, a user is driven to a webpage where all information is constantly updated. It helps eliminate much confusion.

Yes, the use of QR codes has proved to be an easy way, but we here at the VFW Post 4174, located at 25 S. Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres, believe recruiting is also done very successfully by the personal “touch” of veterans telling of their experiences and the reasons they are still the proud patriots who answered the call of duty to this country.
