Residents of East Lee County and Lehigh Acres will soon have a new waste hauler but no schedule changes are planned for pickup. Customers will now have a new phone number to call. It is 239-422-5660.

Waste Pro begins service Oct. 1. Customers will continue to receive weekly collection of garbage, recycling and yard waste. There will be no change in service days and customers can continue to use their same carts.

Waste Pro will occupy the facility currently used by WM at 5594 6th St. W. in Lehigh Acres.

“Lee County and Waste Pro have been good partners for many years,” said Doug Whitehead, director of Lee County Solid Waste. “Since 2010, Waste Pro has provided professional waste-collection service to roughly 155,000 homes in Lee County. This new contract brings an additional 54,000 homes into Waste Pro service areas.”
