Newly founded Florida Gulfshore Ballet is excited to welcome aspiring performers to audition to be part of this exciting new company. The in-person auditions will be held on Jan. 5, in Fort Myers at the Florida Gulfshore Ballet Studios and on Jan. 7, in Miami at the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.

Florida Gulfshore Ballet will be the first and only professional ballet company in Southwest Florida, delivering excellence on stage, as well as a commitment to the widest possible public audience. The company is planning its inaugural full season in 2023-2024, with two introductory Feature Performances in April and May of 2023 in Fort Myers and Naples, respectively.

Under the direction of local ballet stars and artistic directors of Florida Gulfshore Ballet, Iliana Lopez and Franklin Gamero, the company will present pieces of world-renowned choreographer Jimmy Gamonet. Originally choreographed for the Miami City Ballet, Concerto por la Donna, Purple Bend, Grand Pas Classique and Transtangos will be part of the first program.

“After the resounding success of our first event Arts Heal, we are very excited to open this call to audition. Hurricane Ian delayed us but did not deter us and now we are ready.” said Florida Gulfshore Ballet Artistic director Iliana Lopez. “We are looking to build an incredible company that will stand the test of time and bring beautiful professional dance to Southwest Florida.”
