At 25 South Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres, the VFW Post 4174 wants everyone to know, we don’t have a super bowl only once a year. Our “super bowl” takes place every Sunday morning, from 8:30 to 11 a.m., where we have a great breakfast menu, often complete with “super” breakfast bowls which are guaranteed to satiate even the crankiest of stomachs!

But, our bowls don’t stop on Sunday mornings. Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., our kitchen sends out “super” bowls of homemade soups. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, we can bowl over the public as well as our members with our various dinners and entertainments. The hours for the dinners are 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and the music and dancing commence right after.

Our Auxiliary will meet the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. The second Tuesdays see the Post members coming in at 6:30 p.m. On the third Tuesday, the DAV ushers in its members beginning at 6 p.m., while the fourth Tuesday is for the Riders, starting at 7 p.m. The Trauma Support Group has its time the first Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. and the second Wednesday sees the entrance of the family members of the Trauma Support group with a starting time of 6 p.m.

Our bowls aren’t the only reason to stop in to see what we’re all about. We dish up many different committees to assist our veterans, their families and the community where we are located. We have many members who head these committees and are often in need of some help from the public.

In addition to our activities in the Post, we have outdoor activities which show honor to our veterans, those still with us and those we have lost through their ultimate sacrifice. The VFW is a constant server of veterans and continually fighting to get all the benefits they deserve, and even take many of the problems right up to the steps of the Capitol to get resolutions, never giving up the fight to attain all that should have been bestowed just because they gave their services willingly.
