April wasn’t the only time when we actually had some showers here in Lehigh Acres! The month of April saw our VFW, located at 25 S. Homestead Road, “showering” the Post with some very important events. One of the first things to happen was the Elections of Officers for the VFW Auxiliary. The new officers will begin their regimes right after the district conference.

We had a Boot Scoot Friday, where everyone dusted off their boots and hats, a special Easter waffle breakfast, a Saturday country night with the band known as Caloosa Country and for that dinner, baby back ribs with all the fixins’ was the meal. Our Show Me The Money Bingo just keeps getting better each week and we’re” hootin’ and hollerin” the second and fourth Saturdays of the month for the Hillbilly Bingo which starts at 2 p.m.

VFW Post 4174 is known as the “Little Post with a Big Heart” and we have been welcoming new members with a flourish. Of course, this time of the year, many of our members are beginning their trek back to the climes of the north and we’re hoping their weather is fairly warm, after being down here with our unusually hot days!

Our regular meetings are still scheduled as always and we have the entertainment with meals on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Thursday night Bingo is seeing new players all the time and Sunday breakfasts are still the best for your money in Lehigh Acres. Monday through Friday, we have lunch from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., and each day has different “suggestions” from the cook.

Our VFW website always has the events and menus of the day published, and the Public is always welcome for the happenings as well as all meals. If you’re interested in either joining, or just stopping in, we open at 9 a.m. During the earlier hours of the day, an officer is almost always around, but if not, our bartenders are always “up to snuff” with almost any question you could possibly have, or are able to help you with memberships.
