Winn-Dixie is hosting a cookout to benefit Folds of Honor Saturday, June 17 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Fort Myers store, at 10580 Colonial Blvd., Suite 101. Customers can purchase a burger or hotdog with chips and a drink for $3, cooked and served by the Fort Myers Fire Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The cookout will also include giveaways and a meet-and-greet with a Folds of Honor scholarship recipient.

All proceeds will be donated directly to Folds of Honor in support of its mission to honor the sacrifice of America’s heroes by equipping and educating their loved ones. Scholarships awarded through Folds of Honor provide private education tuition and tutoring for children in grades K-12, as well as tuition for college, technical or trade school and post-graduate work, including a master’s degree, doctorate or professional program.

Customers can also show their support for Folds of Honor and America’s heroes while shopping at their local Winn-Dixie by donating $1, $5 or rounding up their grocery bill to the nearest dollar during checkout through June 20.
