Book Discussion: “The Magnolia Palace” by Fiona Davis

East County Craft Club: DIY Photo Coasters
2 p.m. Saturday, July 8
Turn your memories into coaster form with these DIY photo coasters. Bring photos you would like to turn into a coaster or we’ll provide old magazines you can use for a collage. This program is intended for ages 18 and up. Registration is required.

Receive personalized help downloading e-books, movies, music and more from Overdrive/Libby and Hoopla, two of Lee County Library System’s largest online content providers. Bring your fully charged digital device for this hands-on help session. Note: Please bring any passwords you may need for downloading apps. Kindle users will also need an Amazon account and their password for accessing it.
Knit and Stitch

A casual, self-guided group of knitters and crocheters that join together to share projects, ideas and techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring their own projects and tools. Basic materials and supplies are available for newcomers.

Fall Asleep, Stay Asleep

Despite age-related sleep changes, there are many things you can do to help improve your sleep habits. Join us for this session presented by Humana.
Early Settlers of Fort Myers: Part 2
2 p.m. Saturday, July 22
Learn about the very first individuals and families that settled into the remains of Fort Myers after the Civil War. They would start the settlement that grew into a village, a town and finally a city. Join us to explore their photographs, maps and stories.

Kids Read Down Fines

Children and teens can earn a $2 credit on overdue fines for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Please bring your library card.
Read to Dogs
11 a.m. Saturday, July 8
Join us at the library for reading to dogs. The dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team to help improve the literacy skills of children. Children can read down fines or just develop a love of reading through reading to dogs.
Tangle of Tales
11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11
A taste of the familiar and a touch of the new. It’s Tangle of Tales, the imaginative creation of Grey Seal Puppets. Three favorite folk tales from around the world come to life: “The Frog Prince” from Germany teaches the importance of a promise, “Three Billy Goats Gruff” from Scandinavia warns us against gluttony, and “The Three Little Pigs” from England is all about doing the job right. For ages 6-11. Registration is required.
Preschool Play Date
11 a.m. Thursday, July 13
Children through age 5 and their caregivers are invited to this special play date. Meet new friends while developing early literacy skills through free play with games, toys and music.
Community BINGO

Patrons of every age are invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun with Community BINGO.
Storytelling Together with Windell Campbell
11 a.m. Tuesday, July 18
Experience the art of puppetry combined with the art of storytelling. This program uses songs, props and audience participation to bring stories to life. For ages 6-11. Registration is required.
Community Helper Storytime
11 a.m. Thursday, July 20
Children through age 5 and their caregivers are invited to this special community helper storytime. Ms. Katherine from Lee County Solid Waste will read a few of her favorite stories, help us learn how to recycle smart and identify the five types of items that the county recycles during this special storytime event.
Little Red and the Big Bully Wolf
11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25
Join us for a live action theatre performance just for children. The woods are scary enough without having to worry about a big bully howling in the shadows. Follow Little Red and meet her friends – the three little pigs, the Gingerbread Man and more – as they learn to face their fears and stand up to the Big Bully Wolf. Learn to identify, report and resist bullying as we follow Little Red on her journey to grandma’s house. Funny, dramatic and highly entertaining.
For ages 6-11. Registration is required.
Bubble Dance Party

Families with children ages through 5 are invited to dance, sing and play with bubbles.

Become a Teen Social Media Star
11 a.m. Wednesdays
July 12: Introduction to Video Recording Technology and Planning Your Video
July 19: Recording Video Content
July 26: Editing and Posting Video Content
Learn the basics to become a teen social media star. This is a three-week camp. Registration is required and registering for the first program registers you for all three weeks. Participants will be required to have or create a free Microsoft Clipchamp account.
Community BINGO
