Those of you who attended the VFW Post 4174 Halloween party on Oct. 28 had a ‘spooktacular” time. The costumes were very original, fun and prizes were awarded for 3 different categories. The tables were laden with all the great pot luck dishes the participants brought and there was plenty of music, dancing and of course, a great rendition of The Monster Mash.

November is going to be a very busy month, beginning with the return of many members who are also snowbirds. Nov. 11 is Veterans Day and there will be a ceremony at Veterans Park in Lehigh, beginning at 11 a.m. Hot dogs and hamburgers will follow at the post come noontime. At 2 p.m., the music of our Casey DeNoon will begin.

Nov. 18 will be District 13’s meeting at our Post and will begin at 11 a.m. Members from 13 different posts will be joining us and there will be a luncheon served. The District meetings are always well attended and very informative. They also give us a chance to renew our acquaintances and friendships with members of the other posts in our district

Because of the Veterans Day celebration, the ever popular Hillbilly Bingo will be postponed and picked up again on the 25th. We will be having a Thanksgiving Dinner beginning at noon and the post will close that day at 6 p.m. to allow our volunteer workers time to spend with their families.

Sundays will still be for the breakfast beginning at 8:30 til 11 a.m., then the place fills up for the different football watchers. Monday through Friday, lunch is served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. except for Thursday, the 23rd. The regularly scheduled meetings for the Auxiliary, the Post, the DAV and the Riders will be on their normal Tuesdays.

Wednesdays we will have dinner and entertainment, Thursdays Bingo night, again except for the 23rd, Fridays will be dinners and entertainment as well as the same for Saturdays. Monday nights are always devoted to the so popular Show me the Money Bingo.

We open at 9 a.m., so if you get the chance, come join us. You’ll be glad you did!
