Lee County Domestic Animal Services and Lee County Sheriff’s Office celebrate Cell Dog Program with three graduates
Lee County Domestic Animal Services and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Cell Dog Program proudly announce the graduation of three recruits on Thursday, Nov. 30.
The graduating recruits are Cleo, a 1-year-old terrier mix; Happy, a 3-year-old pit bull mix; and Hudson, a 2-year-old American bulldog. All three have completed their basic obedience training and are now crate and house trained and know basic commands such as sit, stay, down and leash walking.
They will be available for adoption through Lee County Domestic Animal Services following graduation. Adoption applications can be completed online at leelostpets.com, or call 239-533-7387 for more information.
The Cell Dog program was implemented in 2004. Since then, more than 600 dogs have been trained and found homes. In partnership with LCSO, the program teaches inmates to train dogs in basic obedience through a 10-week course.
