Boys & Girls Clubs to announce Lee County’s ‘Youth of the Year’ on Feb. 17
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County will announce its 2024 Youth of the Year during a recognition ceremony honoring the region’s most outstanding teens on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Park Meadows Community Club, 1900 Park Meadows Drive in Fort Myers. The four finalists will give speeches starting at approximately 11:30 a.m. and the winner will be named at approximately 2 p.m.
Youth of the Year is a premier, national recognition program that honors Boys & Girls Club members who exemplify the virtues of good character, academic excellence, community service and strong leadership. The Youth of the Year serves as an ambassador for Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County and will appear at community and club events.
A distinguished panel of community judges have selected four teens to compete for 2024 Youth of the Year:
• Ryan Mejias, Pueblo Bonito Neighborhood Club (Bonita Springs)
• Kaliyah Stephens, Park Meadows Community Club (Fort Myers)
• Angel Ortiz, Lehigh Acres Community Club (Lehigh Acres)
• Joshua Hernandez, Pueblo Bonito Neighborhood Club (Bonita Springs)
The winner is eligible to compete in a statewide Youth of the Year competition this spring.
The Youth of the Year program is locally sponsored by Lake Michigan Credit Union.
