A day after his 19th birthday, Yadiel Mayo’s got an incredible gift when the makeover of his nearly 30-year-old pickup truck was revealed. The Lehigh Acres resident, who has struggled with a gastrointestinal disorder, has always been interested in cars and waited a long time to have the customized ride of his dreams. Make-A-Wish Southern Florida and Superior Auto Design in Pompano Beach made the wish come true.
On Monday, March 25 Yadiel saw his 1995 Chevy pickup truck for the first time since all the modifications were made at Superior Auto Design in Pompano Beach. It has been a yearlong process that has delivered Yadiel a truly unique vehicle that now features a brand new interior, front end, exhaust system, tinting, custom camo painted wrap, lights, wheels, truck bed, sound system, and more.
About Make-A-Wish Southern Florida
Make-A-Wish Southern Florida has granted more than 14,000 life-changing wishes since 1983 for children who have critical illnesses. It aims to grant a wish for every medically-eligible child in its territory and understands wishes aren’t just nice, they’re necessary for kids and families at some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Wish kids most often ‘wish to be’ (something), ‘wish to meet’ (someone), ‘wish to go’ (somewhere), ‘wish to have’ (something), or ‘wish to give’ (to a cause) and the nonprofit organization makes this happen for the child and his/her entire family at no cost or obligation.
