Have your DD214 papers available to show! Many stores, restaurants, the VA, and USAA are just a few of the places where a Veteran is able to get a decent discount. The DD214 contains information about one’s military service, including the date and place of entry into active duty, address of residence on the date of release, last duty and rank, job specialties, extra education, decorations and credible service domestic and foreign. While the DD214 can be issued to anyone in the service, not every one may be classified as a Veteran, and to find out more about that, check the DD214 website which will explain the criteria more fully.
