VFW: Pertinent paper!

By Submitted by Pat Whitehall - | May 29, 2024

Are you planning on buying a home? Did you want to purchase that motorcycle your mom would never let you have? Is there a need for a new shed in your yard? Do you need reasonably priced chemicals to keep your pool sparkling clean? Is there a better insurance policy available for your home? Have you decided a loan with decent interest will benefit you and your family? Is it your anniversary and you want to go to a reasonably priced restaurant for dinner?

If you answered yes to any of the above asked questions, the piece of paper which will assist you in getting the very best consideration on any of them is your DD214. Have your DD214 papers available to show! Many stores, restaurants, the VA, and USAA are just a few of the places where a Veteran is able to get a decent discount. And with the economy being what it is, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

The DD214 contains information about one’s military service, including the date and place of entry into active duty, address of residence on the date of release, last duty and rank, job specialties, extra education, decorations and credible service domestic and foreign. While the DD214 can be issued to anyone in the service, not every one may be classified as a Veteran, and to find out more about that, check the DD214 website which will explain the criteria more fully.

To those who don’t like to use the internet, entering the VFW Post 4174, located at 25 S. Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres, will get you the information you need to take advantage of the services your DD214 entitles you to at any given time.

Your service to the country in its time of need is appreciated. To thank you for taking that oath and continuing to serve it, the Little Post with the Big Heart would like to welcome you as a member and help you receive all the benefits you earned. We have a highly qualified service man to assist you. For an appointment, call 239-369-5100 and ask to have a message relayed to Larry D’Angelo.

We are open Sunday through Saturday at 9 a.m. Don’t be bashful, give us a call. You’ll be glad you did!
