The ceremony featured remarks from Joe Torregrasso, the principal of Donna J. Beasley Technical Academy, who stated, “It took many, many people for this to happen today. I want to thank everybody who made this possible. We are looking forward to expanding our certification programs.”
His words highlighted the community’s collective effort to bring this project to fruition.
Walter Crawford, CEO of Heatherwood Construction, added, “We are honored to be part of a project that will have a lasting impact on the lives of these students. This new facility is more than just a building; it’s a beacon of hope and opportunity for the future.”
The new facility, expected to be completed by the end of this year, will enhance the Academy’s ability to provide individualized, technology-based programs and pre-apprenticeship certifications in Electrical, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing trades.
