Can you believe next week begins the month of October? Where has this year zipped off to and can you believe all that has been accomplished so far? Our VFW Post 4174 in Lehigh Acres has been so busy this year and we’re still not finished with all the projects we have been working on to make our post a better place!

Our smoke free environment has helped more people join us for our many activities, lunches and dinners. Our bingo nights are booming with the progressive getting bigger all the time, Show me the money has seen an increase in players and of course, it’s now football season and our halls are filled with fans of all teams, many going home with sore throats from the cheering.

We are collecting candies to help with a Trunk or Treat, planning a Halloween party, enjoying our bowling leagues and continuing with our Hillbilly Bingo as well as bringing board games to the post for people to enjoy with friends in a congenial atmosphere. And of course, we always have our meal nights, and our entertainment evenings.

Even though we are enjoying these activities, our Tuesdays are strictly for the meetings of the different factions of the post. The meetings are so important because that’s when the different community activities get scheduled and the volunteers rounded up. With the coming of season, we are anticipating even more volunteers joining us this year, especially once they learn we are now a smoke free house.

If you’re looking for a nice place to go in the evenings for an inexpensive, but enjoyable evening, stop in at our post. We are located 25 S. Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres . The Public is welcome to stop in at any time , whether it’s for a meal or to join in the various games. Our members are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet and would be happy to make your acquaintance!
