Grey Oaks Country Club selected to host U.S. Women’s Open qualifier

Grey Oaks Country Club will host a qualifier round for the 80th U.S. Women’s Open Championship, with 78 players, including 30 former or current golfers on the LPGA Tour, competing on its Pine Course. PROVIDED
Grey Oaks Country Club, in partnership with the Florida State Golf Association, will host a qualifier round May 13 for the 80th U.S. Women’s Open Championship, one of the most prestigious events in women’s golf. Organized by the United States Golf Association, the championship will take place at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin from May 29 to June 1.
Seventy-eight players, including 30 former or current golfers on the LPGA Tour, will test their shot-making skills on the Grey Oaks Pine Course, which was renovated by industry-leading golf course architect and restoration specialist Andrew Green. The recently completed renovation, part of a broader master plan to enhance member and tournament experiences, has transformed the Pine Course with strategic design updates, improved turf quality and increased playability.
Grey Oaks Country Club was chosen for this prestigious event due to the outstanding conditions of its golf courses, the quality of its practice facilities and the professionalism and hospitality of its golf staff, led by Senior Director of Golf Marty DeAngelo. Hosting a U.S. Women’s Open qualifier represents a significant milestone for Grey Oaks and underscores its growing reputation on the national stage. Only 23 sites nationwide were selected to host qualifier rounds and Grey Oaks is one of only three courses in Florida included.
“We are honored to be a qualifying site for the U.S. Women’s Open and to provide an opportunity for golfers to earn the right to compete with the best in the world,” said Don Emery, general manager of Grey Oaks Country Club. “We look forward to hosting the competitors and witnessing their incredible talents.”
