Laws and ordinances in Lehigh Acres need to be enforced

By Staff | Jun 25, 2025

To the editor:

An open letter to:

Lee County commissioners

Lee County Code Enforcement

Lee County Sheriff

I encourage a full-court press in Lehigh Acres of enforcement of all laws and ordinances.

I don’t want to hear or see lackadaisical enforcement.

We must see, as residents of Lehigh Acres, a complete overhaul of enforcement.

Traffic enforcement.

Commercial truck enforcement.

Illegal vendors selling along roads.

Illegal signs everywhere, right away, need to be stopped.

Unregistered cars.

Illegal semi and dump truck parking in residential areas.

Homeless camps.

Businesses being run out of homes.

Illegal contractors doing business in Lehigh Acres.

Illegal, undocumented immigrants total roundup.

People living in campers at fireworks stands.

People not mowing lawns.

Trash on people’s property.

Leaving trash cans out 24/7.

Illegal dumping.

People not getting permits.

Containment fence mandatory at construction sites.

Texting and driving.

Driving while high on drugs.

4 wheelers terrorizing people.

Drag racing.

Theft.

Vandalism.

Truancy. All students must be in school.

These must be enforced without fail.

Not going to complaints 12 times and do nothing.

This is not acceptable or going to be tolerated anymore?

Time to make Lehigh Acres the best in Florida?

Zero tolerance.

Zero excuses.

Rules and laws are there for reason.

Not deputies or code discretion.

If they can’t enforce the laws, then replace them without fail?

Exercise authority and hold people accountable?

Do your part.
