Local couple makes $100,000 gift to Golisano Children’s Hospital

By Staff | Aug 5, 2025

Golisano Children’s Hospital has received a $100,000 gift from Chas and Chris Williams that will directly support families and patients in need of financial assistance while receiving hematology and oncology care. Their donation will help ensure children undergoing treatment can focus on healing without the added financial stress of travel, lodging, meals, or other essential expenses.

Pediatric cancer care often requires frequent trips to the hospital, which can place a strain on families. The Williams’ gift will help cover essential expenses such as gas cards for long drives, lodging for families who live far away, and meal vouchers during hospital stays. This support helps ensure parents can stay close to their child throughout treatment.

“We are deeply grateful to the Williams’ for their belief in our mission,” said Justin Brand, director of development for Lee Health Foundation. “Their generosity helps us continue delivering compassionate, exceptional care to every child who walks through our doors, while also supporting the unique needs of their families.”

Currently, more than 90 children are undergoing cancer treatment at Golisano Children’s Hospital. Philanthropic gifts play a vital role in helping families navigate a diagnosis and stay strong throughout treatment.
