By Staff | Oct 2, 2025

Overnight detours will be in place on Buckingham Road near Orange River Boulevard beginning 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, through 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, and again at 8 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8. Crews will be working on traffic signal mast arm preparations; motorists and pedestrians are asked to use caution.

The detours will be marked with variable message boards and directional signs.

The detours on Buckingham Road will be:

• Northbound traffic: Detour west on Peace Road to Higginbotham Road, then north to Orange River Boulevard and then east back to Buckingham Road. Cemetery Road traffic entering Buckingham Road will be detoured south. To go north, motorists will need to follow the detour on Peace Road with the rest of northbound traffic.

• Southbound traffic: Detour west on Orange River Boulevard to Higginbotham Road, then south to Peace Road and east to Buckingham Road.

The schedule is weather permitting. This detour and work is part of the overall project to install new signal mast arms at the intersection of Buckingham Road and Orange River Boulevard that began this summer and is expected to be complete in early 2026.
