Lehigh Regional Medical Center recently celebrated its impact on the Lehigh Acres community, as elected officials and community leaders gathered for the unveiling of the hospital's Community Benefit Report, highlighting Lehigh Regional's accomplishments in 2011.
"As a successful, full-service community hospital, Lehigh Regional does much more than care for our patients," Joanie Jeannette, chief executive officer, said. "We are coming off a year of great improvements and successes. This is due to our incredible staff, doctors and volunteers. We want the community to know that our hospital is strong and growing and we are honored that residents are choosing Lehigh Regional Medical Center."
Contributing more than $600,000 in local taxes and providing more than $22 million in employee wages and benefits, Lehigh Regional is a major economic force in the community.
Aside from its economic impact, the hospital contributed $39.7 million in charity and uncompensated care. Lehigh Regional also benefited more than 20 non-profit organizations and gave $156,000 in charitable contributions.
