Fund-raiser to aid SW Florida Crime Stoppers
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers will host the 5th Annual Broadway Series Fundraising Event on Oct. 13 at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater.
The evening's performance will feature the musical "9 to 5," based off the Dolly Parton movie. There will be dinner and a celebrity auction, featuring donated items.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Broadway Palm box office or by calling 278-4422. Every penny of ticket sales will go directly to Crime Stoppers.
First Congregational announces activities
First Congregational Christian Church presents the following:
- Oct. 13: Rummage Sale from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., with breakfast/lunch from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- Oct. 19: First annual anniversary of the car show from 4-8 p.m.

- Oct. 28: Hymn Sing at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Enjoy a relaxing hour of hymns. Bring non-perishable food items for Our Daily Bread Community Pantry. A free will offering for the music program will be taken.

Forum planned for two hospital board districts
Candidates for the Lee Memorial Hospital Board Districts 3 and 5 will be featured at the Fort Myers Republican Women's Club monthly luncheon program.
The candidates will have an opportunity to present their qualifications and how they plan to represent the county if elected. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates.
The public is invited to attend the luncheon and forum on Oct. 16 at The Helm Club at The Landings in South Fort Myers. Social hour begins at 11:15 a.m., with lunch, a business meeting and the forum to follow.

Arts of the Inland meeting scheduled
The Arts of the Inland meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at River Forest Club, at 13851 Island Drive Road, Fort Myers.

Archers registering new participants
The Lee County Archers are registering new participants. The following events take place at the Nalle Grade County Park Range in North Fort Myers:
- Oct. 18: The public is invited from 2-8 p.m. Open ranges include a 20-yard lighted covered pavilion, a 30- to 80-yard lighted outdoor range, and a 28-target field range.
- Oct. 21: 3D Archery Shoot, hosted by the Lee County Archers. A roving field range consisting of 20 3D target stations, and a 14-station N.F.A.A. field course. Sign up from 8-8:30 a.m.; shotgun start at 9 a.m. A $10 shooting fee applies.
- Nov. 4: 900 Round at 9 a.m.

General Women's Club to hold annual luncheon

ABWA plans show
The Lehigh Acres chapter of ABWA will host its Lights, Camera, Fashion show on Oct. 27 at the Colonial Country Club, at 9175 Independence Way, Fort Myers. It supports scholarships for Lehigh Acres residents.

Aviation Day to benefit Harry Chapin Food Bank
Aviation Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3 at Page Field in Fort Myers. Hosted by the Lee County Port Authority, the event aims to raise awareness of Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field.
Admission is free, but visitors can bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Last year, attendees donated more than 2,100 pounds of food and $1,176, which provided more than $7,000 in food to families.

Free admission to bonsai show, sale
The Annual Bonsai Show & Sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 17-18 at the Lee County Election Center, at 13180 Cleveland Ave. S., Fort Myers. Cponsored by the Bonsai Society of Southwest Florida, event admission and parking are free.
The event will feature bonsai exhibits and critiques, workshops and demonstrations, raffles, silent auctions, and sales of bonsai trees and supplies. Vendors will be present to assist buyers with bonsai needs and supplies.
Ed Trout, Toby Diaz, Ernie Fernandez, Mike Feduccia, Mike Cartrett and Dorothy Schmitz, all renowned bonsai artists, will be available to give lectures and provide demonstrations.
