My Cheap Party Rentals, at 3012 35th St., are planning the first ever Lehigh Winterfest, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 8, from 3-8 p.m. at Veterans Park.

The Winterfest is free, and planners said it will bring together the Lehigh Acres community to celebrate Christmas with a variety of fun activities for families with children

There will be live entertainment, music, food, bounce houses, carriage rides, snow flurries and more, said Dathan Pyle, vice president and creator of Winterfest.

Christmas performances are scheduled throughout the event, with Santa making a surprise visit as the event culminates in a lighting ceremony followed by a Christmas sing-a-long.

During the event, families will enjoy appearances from popular children characters, explore the activities at the children's area, with slides and arts and crafts, while they enjoy delicious food in Rudolph's food stable and more.
