Burr Alvin Voelker, 91, of Lehigh Acres, and formerly of Marshfield and Chili, Wisc., died suddenly Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, while vacationing on a cruise near Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He was born May 12, 1921, in Wisconsin, the son of Lucille (Kleinschmidt) and Alvin Voelker.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps Bomber Squadron 373 in the China-India-Burma Arena.
In Wisconsin, he was past commander of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and president of the Zoological Society.

He was an electrician in Wisconsin for 31 years.
He moved to Florida with his wife, Bernice, and worked for the Lehigh Corporation at the "Old Auditorium" producing shows.
He was a member of the Spring Festival board of directors and entertainment stage manager. He also worked with Lehigh Community Services and was a member of the Florida VFW Post 323.
He is survived by his daughters, Shirley (Robert) Altstadt of Lehigh Acres, and Rosalie (Gerry) Langreck of Phillips, Wisc.; sons, Mitchell (Pam) Voelker and Lawrence (Julie) Voelker from Marshfield, Wisc.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family; and many people who were proud to call him a friend.
He was predeceased by his wife; and son, Donald.
Memorial services will be conducted at a future date in Marshfield, Wisc.
