Suspect sought in armed robbery at Lehigh restaurant

On Wednesday, April 17, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call in reference to an armed robbery which had just occurred at Tortilleria Matamoros, 4316 Lee Boulevard, Lehigh Acres. Deputies responded to the call and met with the victims.

During the preliminary investigation, deputies learned that an unknown white male entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register. Shortly thereafter, the suspect fled on foot behind the store.

The suspect is described to be a white male, approximately 40-50 years old, 5'11-6'1, 150 lbs, with shoulder length, light colored hair and was wearing glasses, a baseball cap, a dark colored jacket and blue jeans.

Assistance is needed in identifying the suspect.
