Fake money popping up

At least three banks in town have recently received counterfeit $20 bills. The bills have come to them through businesses in Lehigh Acres, according to officials.

The bills are on bad paper, the imbedded security is not in place.

If you are not sure what to look for, contact Crime Prevention Specialist Larry F. Gutridge at the Lee County Sheriff's Office at (239) 477-1802.

Gutridge will train businesses and their employees. A simple training takes 10 to 15 minutes.
