Wellness Care, Nurse Registry provides registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, home health aides, home makers, companions and sitters for those who need their help. Wellness Care providers work on shifts, hourly and they can "live-in" or "live-out" and a nurse is available on call 24 hours, seven days a week.

Laing says she has been a nurse for the past 18 years and has worked in various clinical settings including emergency room, progressive care, medical/ surgical, rehabilitation, home health and travel nursing.

"I started as a patient care technician working as a home health aide and a certified nursing assistant. I later became a licensed practical nurse, transitioned to a registered nurse, obtained a bachelor's degree in nursing at Florida Atlantic University and later a master's degree in nursing at Nova Southern University with a major in Health Systems Leadership and Management," Laing said.

She says nursing is a "caring business," and the ultimate goal of her caring business is the wellness of all patients that they serve.

"As a RN who started from the basics of nursing, I have always felt the need to serve in my caring profession being hands-on with my patients and at the same time being in a leadership, training and educating role.

"My focus in addressing the unique needs of my patients is safety, whether it's temporary in the hospital, rehabilitation and any licensed health facility or in the comfort of their home," she said.

As a member of the Wellness Care Nursing, Nurse Registry, Laing can be located by calling 888-883-4723.

All certified nursing assistants, home health aides, companions, homemakers and sitters are trained, thoroughly screened and fingerprinted with a Level 2 background screening. All contractors meet and exceed the standards set by the State of

Florida before all job assignments are made.

As a registered nurse or RN, Laing says she works with all clients involving them in their own care as well as collaborating with the primary care physician, family and caregiver with the goal of providing safe patient care.

"My focus as the RN is to ensure that our client's nursing needs are met. I work closely with patient's primary physicians to tailor their unique plan of care.

"Your wellness is our passion. If you are an elderly person at home needing additional help with bathing, shopping, light housekeeping, etc., or perhaps you are alone in Lee and Collier counties and need assistance, we can provide service and if you are hospitalized and wondering how you will manage at home after discharge, we can work closely with your physician to help your transaction to wellness," Laing said.

Some of the home services include personal care, dressing, skin care, medication reminders, homemaking, grocery shopping, laundry, light housekeeping and transportation to appointments.

This business was opened in 2013 to serve all of Lee and Collier counties.

"We are a Nurse Registry and we are licensed, bonded and insured. All our contractors are thoroughly background screen and finger-printed meeting and exceeding all the credentialing standards of the Agency for Healthcare Administration guidelines," she said.

All contractors with Wellness Care have various backgrounds and experiences working with various clienteles.

Laing says she believes a person, no matter what type of work she or he does, should be happy with that work.

"If you have a passion for what you do, you will likely be more healthy than not. Working at a job you love is a wonderful thing," she said.

Laing has that passion and it is very evident when there is a conversation with her. That is what had brought her to this field of nursing care.
