Helen Elizabeth Flint Weddel, 73, of Lehigh Acres, died Monday, August 11, 2014, after losing her battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Lehigh Acres to William R. and Ida May (Hedlund) Flint.
She was a fourth generation native Floridian, who was raised and spent her entire life on Homestead Road.
She graduated from Alva High School in 1961. She worked in the moving business for many years.
When she was not working, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, gardening, sailing, shooting and car shows. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was an exceptional woman, a bright shining star who touched the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. She was a wonderful daughter, loving wife and an amazing mother and grandmother.
She is irreplaceable to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving companion, Glen Obertubbesing and his adoring mother, Virginia Obertubbesing; sons, Brian (Rosie) Mount and Gerald (Margret) Mount; grandchildren, Elizabeth Mount, Dillion Breeyear, Jeremy (Jennifer) Stevens and Joshua Mount; great-grandchildren, Colton Smith and Mariah Knavel; brother, Bill Flint; stepmother, Alecia Flint; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Millard "Skip" Weddel.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at the Hodges Funeral Home. Interment was held in the Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
