To the editor:
Has the sewage in the Gulf and the Caloosahatchee finally impacted the brains of local government? Using land to build public housing is not the way to attract the best and the brightest to the Lee County School System.
Try paying a decent salary so that professional educators will want to apply to teach in our schools and become a vital part of our community. Pay them a competitive salary so they can buy property or be able to afford rent which would stimulate the economy.
The local government calls itself conservative? This public housing project is an insult to our educators and amounts to welfare. This is nothing but political payback on the backs of the taxpayers.
